Help with a Title

Okay, I'm breaking the rules of Josh's blog, since the following post should most likely go on the 8063J blog HOWEVER all 5 of us are on this blog (and only Josh and I are on 8063J).

That said, I need help. As part of my current class, I have a project that needs a title. Basically, I'm creating a podcast that explores the films that "inspired" George Lucas' Star Wars films. Each episode will point out a certain film (eg. Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress), comment on the similarities, and common themes of the films. I have several titles in mind, but would appreciate your feedback. My favorite is "Dig Star Wars" - as dig can mean both "love" and "unearth" (as in "unearth" the films that inspired the series). Here's my list of possible titles, pick your favorite and tell me why:

Force History 101
Dig Star Wars
Chris Digs Star Wars
Digging Star Wars
Star Wars Dig
Intercepted Transmissions
Journal of the Films
Mindless Philosophy 101
Stay on Target
Point That Thing Someplace Else!
The Stolen Data Tapes
Several Transmissions
Old Data
Impacted on the Surface
Outgassing
3263837

And, add a few titles of your own. I want this to be catchy, memorable, but "academically" acceptable. Thanks for your help!

Oehlers Story 1 notes - 1

Paul,

I just re-read your post.  Here are some thoughts:

A. Obviously money is a good thing, espescially during the depression.  Maybe we need a 3A. or put as #4 the question "This will changes things how?"  At the moment, if he just hides it, it's not doing anything wonderful.  It's not ACTIVE.  The money needs to change things at this point.  It could possibly be that now he has hope of leaving, but is stopped by events.  Then we can ask, does he try to escape right away?  The boy should try to put his plan in effect and is interrupted by the obstacles.

B. The Uncle is also an obstacle, will he take the money for himself?  What will he do with it?

C. So figuring out what he is doing by hiding it and what he is doing to escape or do whatever he is going to do can then determine what actions he takes once the robbers show up.  If he has access to the money, the money itself could help him out of the situation - or even help him hide it, but he needs to get acces to the money and get away before it is all spent on keeping it safe.

D. I think a big part of what happens with the robbers is dependant upon who they are as characters.  Once their personalities start being set, ideas will sprout from that.

One more thing to get started

Great.  I see you're all signed up.  Hopefully this'll be a fun and good way to throw ideas around.

There's one more thing you guys need to do in order to have privacy for this blog.

1st, Go to Edit Profile

2nd, go to SELECT BLOGS TO DISPLAY

3rd, UNCHECK this blog so people don't just happen by it when they look at your profile and see all our naked ideas.

For now I think we can leave the blog public in case we want to show anyone anything.  This way, no one will see it unless knowing where it is.

That's all 4 now!

1st try

Okay Guys,

Here's how this should hopefully work.  Read Paul's post and if you have any ideas, post it using the next number on the sheet over to the right side of the web page.

In this case though, number 8. is kind of unfinished.  HOW will they avoid the robbers?  HOW does he prevent his Uncle from finding out.  If you don't have those answers when posting your story another way of putting it down could be:

Avoid the robbers by ????? Don't let his Uncle find out by ?????

Or something like that.  Just let everyone know that's where you also are stuck or stopped.

Again, this is for fun or more.  It can be used just to keep the writing muscle in shape.

Oehlers story 1

1. THE CHARACTER IS...
A  young orphaned boy who lives on a farm

2. THEIR LIFE IS...
Bad. Even though the farm is his, because he hasn't turned 18, his uncle: who is his legal guardian, abuses him.

When his parents are shot, it is the age of Prohibition, or the gangster. By the time they get out to retrieve the money from the boy, it is the great depression.

3. THEY...
C.) Receive something wonderful...

His uncle made him work long, hard hours in the field.  He finds a large suitcase of money in a field.

4. THE REASON THIS HAPPENED WAS ...

It's the money the robbers who killed his parents buried before they were caught.

5. THEY TRY TO...

C.) Keep the wonderful thing going

Hide the money so no one can find it.

6. THEY DO THIS BY...

Burying it somewhere else.

7. THE OBSTACLE IN THEIR WAY IS...

The robbers finally get out of jail because of a reduced sentence and com back to get the money.

8. IN ORDER TO OVERCOME THE OBSTACLE THEY NEED TO...

Avoid the robbers. Don't let his uncle find out.

THIS IS WHERE I'M SORT OF STUCK
